Stair tread bolts Set 5C XXL – simply rest the treads on the supports and screw them in place

Rest the treads on the supports and screw them in place – no additional tread machining required. Version C is the most economical LamiFIX system for fixing stair treads at the side. The tread connector requires neither a groove nor a mounting hole in the tread. This saves machining time, installation time and costs.

Application and design

Set 5C XXL in INOX A2 is used to fix stair treads to lightweight bricks and rubble masonry. The stair anchor is embedded in mortar. This version has no sound insulation and is intended for single-family homes.

Supplied components

Includes the stair anchor, mesh sleeve, mortar, wall rosette and tread fixing screw.

Wall holes

In brick, pre-drill at Ø16 mm with light hammer action, then finish at Ø20 mm without hammer action. This protects the internal webs of the brick. Rebar cutters are particularly suitable for drilling brick without hammer action. The correct version depends on the wall material; please contact us for advice on insulating and lightweight blocks.

Installation tip: fit the treads from top to bottom

This keeps the fixing screws on the underside of the treads accessible. Clean the holes and insert the specified mesh sleeves. Then fit each tread individually:

  1. Fill the mesh sleeve with the specified injection mortar, working from the back towards the front.
  2. Insert the anchor with a twisting motion to distribute the mortar all around it.
  3. Place the wooden tread or a temporary tread on the anchor and screw it in place while the mortar is still workable.

At 20 °C, our mortar provides around two minutes more working time than a high-speed mortar – enough to fit one tread.

Observe the working and curing times of the mortar used.

Accurate holes with drill bushes

The holes must be drilled at the correct angle and position. For stairs without stringers, we lend suitable drill bushes free of charge for a maximum of three months. The drilling guide is shown in the LamiFIX catalogue on page 26 .

Suitable drill bits and installation tools

Available separately:

Compatible with tread suspension systems

Version C can also be combined with LamiFIX tread suspension systems. Depending on the stair design, choose between the Ø10 mm tread suspension system and the Ø16 mm tread suspension system . The treads are suspended from the handrail or ceiling; the rods are made to measure.
