Stair tread bolt Set 6B – acoustically isolated fixing in wood

LamiFIX stair tread bolt Set 6B fixes treads to the side of wooden walls. Version B is designed for treads with a drilled recess. The connector is inserted into the hole in the tread. The INOX Decor cover cap conceals the screw fixing.

Installation in wood and Fermacell-lined wooden walls

The stair anchor is inserted into the timber structure with the acoustic plug. The wall rosette covers the junction with the wall. The Fermacell lining must not exceed 15 mm in thickness. According to catalogue page 21, the wall hole must be 85 mm deep and 25 mm in diameter. Installation dimensions and tread machining are shown in the product gallery drawings.

Acoustic isolation

Installation with acoustic isolation is recommended for apartment buildings. For single-family homes, it can generally be omitted.

Installation

Holes in the wooden wall must be drilled on site accurately in angle and position. The Set includes five drywall screws for fixing at the lining. Installation uses an acoustic plug.

For stairs without stringers, we lend matching drill bushes free of charge for up to three months. They make accurate on-site drilling straightforward. Installation using drill bushes is shown in the LamiFIX catalogue on page 26 . The matching Ø25 mm HSS wood twist drill bit, LF 2001.250.3, is available separately.

Matching installation accessories

The Ø38 mm carbide boring bit, LF 2011.380.3, for drilling the tread recess is available separately. Matching wooden cover caps in maple (LF 1436.009.1), beech (LF 1436.004.1) and oak (LF 1436.010.1) are available separately as alternatives to the supplied INOX Decor cap.

Installation tip

Drill the wall hole to Ø25 mm. The acoustic plug is slightly oversized and is driven into the hole with a rubber mallet. Moisten it with a little soapy water before driving it in. This reduces friction and makes installation easier.
